This is a sponsored post with Rose Art. I received products to try and partnered with Rose Art for a giveaway package for my readers. Post may contain affiliate links. All thoughts are my own.
The yard was a swamp from the rain all weekend and the cabin fever was setting in something fierce, so the boys kept squabbling over video game controllers and what to watch on Netflix. So I said hold on a second, I have an idea.
I told them about the new box of stuff we got from Rose Art a few days before. They got excited because the last time we got a package from Rose Art we went wild on the trampoline and they LOVED that. (They couldn’t believe how cool I was about making a mess that day.)
So we cracked open the new box from Rose Art. This time it was a little more controlled, indoors and no mess! The box was full of Ultimate Artist mixed media coloring pages along with gel pens, color pencils and markers.
Everyone stopped squabbling and we stayed at the table for a couple of hours in peace, love and happiness. Art just does that, and I’m a fan 🙂
Check out my tiger, before and after. I used markers on the blue foil page from the mixed media coloring book. I’ve been a St. John Tiger and a Fort Hays State University Tiger my whole life, so I’m paying homage.
The mixed media coloring book is awesome, full of blue Foil pages, Fuzzy black felt pages, super thin Translucent pages and Artist pages. The recommended markers/pens to use for each one are on the back.
Something handy with the Portfolios, you can store the pencils, pens or markers in the front pocket storage compartment.
We just dump our pens, pencils and markers into one basket but if you’re super organized, the option is there!
I also liked the black puffy pages, I used a few of the glitter gel pens on this one, the colors really pop against the black felt.
It’s nice to sit and worry only about what color I want my butterflies to be, if only for an hour or so. You have to slow down to appreciate the precision and detail in each picture and stay inside the lines.
You can go wild too. The dragon foil page caught the eye of my 9 year old right away. He used the neon gel pens for this one.
I was so thankful for this boredom buster to restore the peace, love, harmony and sanity to our weekend. Not to mention all the great additions to beef up our art box arsenal for days when we can’t go outside.
